The Patriot is an advanced American air defense system capable of intercepting ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and aircraft at ranges exceeding 150 kilometers (93 miles). Ukraine received multiple Patriot batteries from the United States and European partners from 2023 onwards for defense against Russian missile attacks.
