The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a multirole fighter aircraft manufactured by Lockheed Martin and operated by over 25 air forces worldwide since its introduction in 1978. Ukraine began receiving F-16s from European partners in summer 2024 after prolonged diplomatic efforts to secure Western fighter jets capable of countering Russian air superiority.
