Russian attacks killed at least four people and injured 50 others across Ukraine over the past day, as Sumy Oblast came under heavy strikes, including overnight guided aerial bomb attacks on the city of Sumy that injured 13 people, local authorities said on Aug. 10.
In Sumy Oblast, Russian attacks killed two people and injured 28 others over the past day, according to the local military administration. Thirteen people were injured in overnight guided aerial bomb strikes on the city of Sumy, while Russian attacks also damaged homes, non-residential buildings, and civilian infrastructure.
The overnight attack was part of a wider Russian strike on Ukraine, with Russia launching 126 Shahed-type and other attack drones, as well as one Kh-59/69 guided aerial missile and three Banderol loitering munitions, the Air Force said. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 92 drones and three Banderol munitions, while 31 attack drones hit 22 locations and debris from downed drones fell at two others.
In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, one person was killed and four others were injured in attacks on the Zaporizhzhia and Polohy districts, GovernorIvan Fedorov said. Russian forces carried out 867 strikes against 47 settlements in the region over the past day.
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, one person was killed and five others were injured as Russian forces attacked four districts nearly 60 times with drones, artillery and guided aerial bombs, Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said.
In Kherson Oblast, two people were injured, as Russian forces struck residential areas and critical and social infrastructure, damaging eight apartment buildings, private vehicles, the local military administration said.
In Kharkiv Oblast, Russian attacks hit 24 settlements and injured seven people, Governor Oleh Syniehubov said.
In Donetsk Oblast, Russian attacks injured four residents, in the Dobropillia, Sloviansk and Kramatorsk areas, Governor Vadym Filashkin said.
