Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the Ukrainian presidential administration, said in a Tweet on April 24 that “Russia is constantly attacking Mariupol’s Azovstal,” a steel plant sheltering residents. Podolyak urged Russia to open a humanitarian corridor, as well as for a “special round of negotiations” to enable the evacuation of troops and civilians.

Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service warned on Jan. 2 that Russia may be preparing a provocation as part of its efforts to disrupt the U.S.-mediated peace talks.
