Russia has lost around 984,940 troops in Ukraine since the beginning of its full-scale invasion on Feb. 24, 2022, the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces reported on May 29.
The number includes 1,050 casualties that Russian forces suffered just over the past day.
According to the report, Russia has also lost 10,864 tanks, 22,645 armored fighting vehicles, 50,015 vehicles and fuel tanks, 28,386 artillery systems, 1,397 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,171 air defense systems, 372 airplanes, 336 helicopters, 37,999 drones, 28 ships and boats, and one submarine.

"Today it is something special because it is about Ukrainian children," Denys Sienik, acting ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S., said. "Those children who are no longer with us, those children who have been kidnapped by Russia. And it is so important to draw attention, to raise public attention to the matter, and to send a message to all Ukrainian children that no one is forgotten."

167 Kherson Oblast residents trapped on the right bank of the Dnipro River were evacuated to safer areas in the region. 22 children and 21 people with limited mobility were among the evacuated, the General Staff said.
A Russian drone strike on the grounds of a vocational school dormitory in Vinnytsia Oblast killed two people, including a 13-year-old girl, on Nov. 1, the State Emergency Service reported.
"A ‘Pantsir-S2’ system and a command and control vehicle belonging to the S-400 ‘Triumph’ system were also struck," Zelensky said, causing an estimated $70 million in damage.
"The appointment of eight new members of the Constitutional Tribunal lies within the constitutional power of the Sejm (Poland's parliament)," a European Commission spokesperson told the Kyiv Independent.
Russia continued its campaign against Ukraine's energy grid ahead of winter, targeting infrastructure in at least four regions overnight and injuring three workers from the Ukrainian energy company DTEK.
Ukraine has targeted the facility a number of times, including a confirmed strike on Aug. 26 that sparked a large fire. The NORSI suspended operations due to damaged sustained in that attack.
