Air raid alerts continued shortly after midnight, with explosions again heard in Kyiv around 12:30 a.m. local time on Aug. 28, according to Kyiv Independent journalists on the ground.

Later in the morning, Ukraine's Air Force announced that seven Russian Iskander-M or North Korean-built KN-23 ballistic missiles had been shot down.

The attack caused critical damage to the plant, which supplies heat to a significant number of residential buildings in Kherson.

"The threat posed by Russia and possible provocations against NATO must be taken seriously, and that is precisely what the allies are doing," Estonia's Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna told the Kyiv Independent. "We must remain vigilant, but Estonia's threat assessment has not changed."

Kyiv has been vocal in recent weeks about the threat of another wave of Russian mobilization.

The victim has not been named. His wife, reportedly also in the vehicle at the time of the incident, was critically injured.

Transcripts included in the prosecutors' motions in the case explicitly state that Zelensky's Chief of Staff Kyrylo Budanov took part in the conversations, Hromadske reported.

"The logistics complex in Ufa received minor damage, but is still closed and the area needs to be thoroughly inspected," the company said.
