Russian attacks killed at least nine people and injured 89 others across Ukraine over the past day, while Dnipropetrovsk Oblast came under attack nearly 80 times, local authorities said on Aug. 7.
Russian forces killed five people and injured 16 others over the past day in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in southeastern Ukraine, a region that remained deep behind the front lines until July last year.
In his evening and morning updates on Russian attacks on Aug. 6 and Aug. 7, Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said Russian forces struck the region about 80 times using drones, artillery, guided aerial bombs, and missiles.
In addition, Russia launched 147 Shahed-type drones against Ukraine overnight on Aug. 7, with air defenses shooting down 114 of them, the Air Force said. The remaining 29 drones hit 15 locations, while debris from downed drones fell at four other sites.
In Kherson Oblast, Russian forces targeted 39 settlements, including the regional center of Kherson, killing one person and injuring 32 others, including a child, over the past day, the local military administration said.
In Kharkiv Oblast, Russian forces killed two men and injured 11 others in the city of Lozova, while seven more people were injured elsewhere across the region, Governor Oleh Syniehubov said.
In Donetsk Oblast, Russian attacks killed one person in Bilenke and injured five others elsewhere in the region, Governor Vadym Filashkin said.
In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, 10 people were injured in Russian attacks, the local military administration said.
In Sumy Oblast, eight people suffered injuries in Russian strikes over the past day, according to the local military administration.
