Bloomberg: European Commission recommends giving Ukraine, Moldova EU candidate status.

The decision was announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The final decision to grant the status must be approved by all 27 member states. The commission also decided that Georgia would be able to get candidate status after meeting certain conditions.
