A series of explosions were reported overnight on August 2 in Russian-occupied Crimea, with local residents citing drone activity and air defense operations, according to multiple Telegram channels and eyewitness accounts.

"Based on the highly provocative statements of the Former President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, who is now the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, I have ordered two Nuclear Submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions," U.S. President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The U.S. president added that Ukraine has suffered an estimated 8,000 military deaths since January, not including missing personnel.
