The Kyiv Independent Discord server is a space where our global community can connect with each other and with our journalists, ask questions, share ideas, explore Ukrainian culture, and find ways to help Ukraine.

Access is available to paid members only. To join, become a member, or log in to your existing account and use the invite link on the “Benefits” page. If you have a Patreon membership, you can follow these instructions to connect your accounts.

Server rules

By joining the Kyiv Independent Discord server, you agree to follow the rules below.

Treat everyone with respect

Engage with fellow members and the Kyiv Independent team with respect. Personal attacks, intimidation, harassment, and/or abusive behavior are not acceptable. Offensive or insulting messages will be moderated.

Stay on topic

Keep discussions in the relevant channels. Our focus is Ukraine, the wider region, civic engagement, and geopolitics. Discussions outside of this scope are welcome in the appropriate channels.

Keep content appropriate

Do not post explicit, graphic, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content. Ads, pornographic material, and irrelevant external links will be removed. Sharing fundraisers that support Ukraine is welcome; advertising cryptocurrency is not.

Protect privacy

Do not share sensitive or identifying details about yourself or others.

Do not spread disinformation

Do not share false, misleading, or unverified information. Accuracy is at the heart of our journalism, and we hold our community to the same standard.

Moderation and Restrictions

How we handle violations

Messages that do not follow these guidelines will be moderated or removed. If violations continue, we may take the following steps:

• Private notice
• 1-week Discord ban
• 1-month Discord ban
• Permanent Discord ban
