UK to give Ukraine $500 million to help it buy more natural gas

Washington and Kyiv will invest $75 million each to kickstart the Ukraine reconstruction investment fund that gives the U.S. special access to mineral sites and other projects in Ukraine, the Economy Minister Oleksii Sobolev told journalists on Sept. 17.

"I can't say right now that they (Russian troops) have all left Belarus, but I hope they will continue moving in the right direction," Ukraine State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andrii Demchenko said.

The government first presented the position last year to ensure soldiers had a mechanism to report violations of their rights.
