Kyiv Oblast Police Chief Andriy Nebytov said that about 300 people are still missing, underscoring that the current civilian death count isn't final. The official added that 700 of those killed were shot with small arms, such as a handgun. Russian forces retreated from Kyiv Oblast in early April, leaving hundreds of civilians dead, injured, or tortured.
Two people were killed, and another 8 were injured as Russian ballistic missile explosions rocked Kyiv overnight on Sept. 24.

"Russia is trying to choke off Ukrainian grain exports, thus jeopardizing global food security. We therefore support efforts towards an arrangement in the Black Sea to safeguard freedom of navigation," the EU's top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, said.
President Volodymyr Zelensky, on Sept. 23, addressed the U.N. General Assembly, calling for continued support for Ukraine, stressing the importance of negotiations, and warning that Ukrainians will continue to fight back against Russia.
