Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made the announcement on March 11, noting that the intended aim is for Russian officials and oligarchs to be unable to “profit or benefit from economic activities in Canada.” Roman Abramovich holds a 28% stake in a Canada-based steel company, Evraz.
