AFP: Russian Patriarch Kirill excluded from EU sanctions after Hungary’s demand

The AFP news agency reported citing unnamed diplomats that the EU countries agreed to drop Patriarch Kirill, the head of Russia’s Orthodox Church who supports the war in Ukraine, from the list of targeted individuals in the 6th package of sanctions against Russia. Hungary’s pro-Kremlin authorities insisted on it, holding up the approval of the package.
