EU to provide additional $540 million to Ukraine.

The European Council said on April 13 that the funds are to "further support the capabilities and resilience of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to defend the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country, and protect the civilian population against the ongoing Russian military aggression." The total EU aid for Ukraine will now amount to $1.6 billion.
