Biden wrote that the meeting was "to convey our continued commitment to support Ukraine in the face of Russia's brutal war of aggression." Shmyhal is the highest-ranking Ukrainian official to visit the U.S. since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24.
