Putin's friend Medvedchuk flees house arrest in Kyiv.

Viktor Medvedchuk, a co-leader of the pro-Kremlin Opposition Platform-For Life party and a long-time unofficial representative of Russia's President Vladimir Putin in Ukraine, fled his house in Kyiv where he was under house arrest. Medvedchuk’s lawyer claimed that he “is in a safe place in Kyiv.” Medvedchuk is charged with treason and financing terrorism.
