"We are focusing on the need to provide for 1 million people who will be facing the enemy," he wrote. He also said that 1,500 Ukrainian soldiers are already training or will start mastering Western weapons and return as instructors.

"This decision is shameful," the statement reads.

Ukraine continued its onslaught of attack on Russian oil infrastructure overnight on April 18, striking multiple targets in occupied Crimea and in Russia's Samara Oblast.
The effective extension of the waiver comes just two days after U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told reporters that the Trump administration "will not be renewing the general license on Russian oil," as well as another waiver on Iranian oil.
