Local Scottish council to restore empty homes for Ukrainian refugees

North Lanarkshire Council announced on July 11 that it will use Scottish government funding to restore up to 200 high-rise apartments to house Ukrainian refugees, reports The Guardian. The towers were designated for demolition, but will instead be refurbished within the next few weeks.
