Russia's recent attacks cause energy giant DTEK $40 million worth of damage

Trump said Ukraine's strike campaign against oil refineries was "a serious hit against the Russians." He also claimed it was causing inflated diesel prices, and said "we'll be talking about that."

"What signal does this send? Frankly, astonishing and embarrassing," said Ukraine's sanctions chief Vladyslav Vlasiuk on social media.

In an interview with the Kyiv Independent, Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics said his government is preparing for cyberattacks, information campaigns, and possible disruptions by Russia.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said three of the injured were hospitalized, while the others received medical assistance at the scene.

The strike targeted a facility near the settlement of Tsymbulova in Oryol Oblast, roughly 150 kilometers (93 miles) from the Ukrainian border.

"Last week, in honor of Senator Lindsey Graham, I signed a powerful new law passed by Congress, providing me with enormous new tariff authorities," Trump said in his address at the U.N. General Assembly in New York. "And, if necessary, I will have to use them. It's time to stop the killing."

“Even if we wanted to supply (potash) to Western markets, we simply do not have those volumes — everything is contracted," Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko said.

The SBU did not publicly name the intended target, saying only that he had fought for Ukraine since 2022, first in Kyiv Oblast and later on the eastern front, and currently heads a nationwide civic organization while working as a kickboxing coach.

The main targets of the attack were Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, and Poltava oblasts, while strikes were recorded at 22 locations.

The move comes as security concerns are growing along Russia’s northwestern border. NATO officials have warned about Russian drone incursions, airspace violations, sabotage, and other hybrid threats, while countries in the region have been strengthening air defenses.
