Russia targeted Slatyne, a village 13 kilometers from the Russian border, with multiple air strikes on Sept. 28, Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported.

The attack targeted civilian infrastructure, hitting an educational institution and shops while people were walking on the street, Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov said.

The air strikes killed three people and injured six others. One of the victims, a woman, was reported to be in serious condition following the attack. No details have been reported on the remaining victims.

An educational institution and several houses were damaged. A non-residential building, a house, multiple outbuildings, a car, and dry grass in an open space caught fire after the attack.

Firefighters and rescue workers were dispatched to the scene.
