Ukraine has signed agreements with the World Bank totaling nearly $600 million under the "Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Enterprise" (RISE) project, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced on Nov. 4.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico's visit to Ukraine comes shortly after his comments that as long as he is the prime minister, he will block Kyiv's entry into NATO.

"Yesterday, Russia attacked our power distribution substations with missiles for the first time. The facilities were targeted by tens of cluster missiles, but we lost a relatively small amount of equipment during that attack. Ukraine's budget deficit for 2025 will be $35 billion, but assistance from partners will cover roughly $20 billion, PM Denys Shmyhal said on Aug. 27.
This is the first tranche in 2024 under a new financial agreement between Ukraine and the World Bank.
"Building fortifications is a priority for every front-line oblast's leader. This year, the government allocated Hr 2 billion (around $50 million) to Kherson Oblast for this task," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.

The visit comes only days after Czech President Petr Pavel announced Ukraine would receive 50,000 shells under Prague's ammunition initiative in July, with the deliveries rising to 100,000 rounds monthly since September.
The government has been providing support to a wide spectrum of consumers, ranging from individual households to businesses, to facilitate additional energy generation, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
President Volodymyr Zelensky is considering dismissing Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Ukrainska Pravda reported on July 3, citing sources in the presidential team.
"These funds will help finance critical budget expenditures, social benefits, and the salaries of doctors and teachers," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
The total budgetary support for Ukraine from the EU so far in 2024 has "reached nearly 8 billion euros ($8.6 billion)," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said, adding that there is "more to come."
"As of today, we have full confidence — Ukraine will definitely become a full member of the European Union," President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his address. "Now, the focus is on the technical work between Ukraine and the EU, adapting our system to the EU, and Europe's political will to make the European project truly complete."
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and U.S. Acting Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs John Bass held a meeting on June 21 to discuss further Ukraine-U.S. cooperation.
Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal discussed Ukraine-Netherlands joint defense production, the exchange of technologies, the upcoming global peace summit in Switzerland, and Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration.
The news comes in the wake of the dismissal of Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov in May.
The parties will discuss how to improve the coordination of aid to Ukraine, including ammunition supply, air defense, and cooperation in the defense industry.
