The National Police said on May 22 that Russian troops attacked 12 settlements in the oblast, destroying 58 civilian buildings, including schools. Some civilians were reportedly killed and injured. The police didn’t disclose the number of casualties.

Drone warfare has become one of the defining technologies of Russia’s war against Ukraine. The Kyiv Independent's Kollen Post and Nick Allard spent a night with a drone team from Nemesis, one of Ukraine’s elite drone units, as they carried out bombing missions against Russian positions.
The claim appears to conflict with President Volodymyr Zelensky's earlier statement that Kyiv agreed to Washington's request for assistance in protecting U.S. military bases in Jordan.
"The Trump administration cannot simultaneously claim to be prioritizing U.S. military operations while offering sanctions relief to (Russian President Vladimir) Putin," the letter reads.
The EU-sanctioned tanker Sea Owl I was boarded near Trelleborg, the Swedish Coast Guard said.
"We identified steps and specific decisions that can deliver strong results. This concerns both air defense and combat aviation," Zelensky said on X.
