Elvira Nabiullina, who has led Russia's Central Bank for nearly nine years, tried to quit when Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed sources. Putin did not accept her resignation.

Sending the medal back via Nova Post, Ukraine’s leading postal service, President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the Polish people for their support and solidarity during Russia’s full-scale invasion.
