President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Telegram on May 9 that he anticipates that Ukraine will “receive a positive response in June regarding the acquisition of EU candidate status.”
With Ukrainian forces regaining the battlefield initiative, Kyiv has until winter to effectively negotiate with Moscow, Zelensky told CBS News in a May 31 interview.
