Russian attacks across Ukraine kill at least 12, injure 81

Russian attacks across Ukraine have killed at least 12 people and injured 81 others over the past day, local authorities said on Aug. 8, as yet another deadly overnight strike pounded Kyiv and its surrounding region.
The Air Force said Russia launched six Iskander-M ballistic missiles and S-400 surface-to-air missiles overnight. No missiles were shot down in the overnight strike, as Ukraine faces a critical shortage of Patriot interceptors, according to the Air Force.
The Air Force also said that 151 drones were used in the attack, and 135 drones were shot down or neutralized with electronic warfare.
Three people, including a child, were killed, and three others were injured in Kyiv Oblast's Brovary district, Governor Tymur Tkachenko reported. A child was also reported to be among the wounded.
The falling debris from Russian projectiles used in the attack damaged a house and cars, and a fire broke out in the territory of "a non-residential building," according to Tkachenko.
In Kyiv, a person was killed, and four others were wounded by the overnight strike, according to the city's military administration.
"Russia continues to terrorize the civilian population," Tkachenko said in his Telegram post.
In southeastern Zaporizhzhia Oblast, three people were killed, and four others were wounded by Russian attacks over the past day, regional governor Ivan Fedorov reported.
In northeastern Kharkiv Oblast, two people were killed, and seven others were wounded by Russian attacks over the past day, regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said. The two people killed were men aged around 60 in the front-line town of Izium, about 30 kilometers (19 miles) from the front.
In central Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a person was wounded by Russian attacks over the past day, according to regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha. He said that Russia attacked six districts of the region over 10 times with drones.
In northeastern Sumy Oblast, 19 people were injured in Russian attacks over the past day, including 14 in the border community of Bilopillia, according to the regional military administration.
In eastern Donetsk Oblast, a person was killed in Sloviansk, and 15 others were injured by Russian attacks over the past day, regional governor Vadym Filashkin said.
In southern Kherson Oblast, two people were killed, and 26 others, including a child, were wounded by Russian attacks over the past day, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin said.
In the southern city of Odesa, a Russian attack on one of Ukraine's largest football stadiums, home to FC Chornomorets, injured two people, according to regional governor Oleh Kiper.
