UNHCR launches funding program for Ukrainian IDPs.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees will give money to internally displaced Ukrainians to cover their housing, food, and hygiene needs. The program will start in Ukraine’s western city of Lviv, and will gradually be extended to other cities and regions.

Court issues arrest warrant for Medvedchuk.

The leader of Ukraine’s pro-Russian Opposition Platform party and lifelong associate of Vladimir Putin, Viktor Medvedchuk had previously been detained on house arrest for charges of treason but escaped under suspicious circumstances on Feb. 28. He is believed to be in Ukraine but his whereabouts are unknown.

Reuters cites Chinese state-owned media outlets saying that Xi Jinping supported peace in Ukraine. According to the report, Xi told his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden that the two countries must make an effort for world peace.

Zelensky: EU promises fast accession for Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said during his daily address that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen promised to speed up Ukraine's accession. "We'll reduce the bureaucratic processes, which usually take years, to weeks and months," said Zelensky.

Pro-war rally held in Moscow, tens of thousands attend.

At least 81,000 people attend a pro-war rally in Moscow's Luzhniki stadium. Russian authorities claim over 200,000 people attend the event celebrating Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014. Images of Russian troops invading Ukraine were shown on the screen accompanied by cheers of the gathered crowd.

222 people, including 60 civilians, killed in Kyiv since Feb 24.

Four children were killed by Russia's attacks in the capital, according to Kyiv's administration. Some 889 people were injured, including 241 civilians and 18 children among them. Some 36 houses, five private estates, six schools and four kindergartens were destroyed in Kyiv. The facades of 55 houses were also damaged.

Gazprom uses Ukraine's gas pipelines at maximum capacity.

Russia's gas monopoly is currently sending over 105 million cubic meters of gas per day through Ukraine, according to Ukraine's Gas Transmission Operator System. In January, Gazprom had cut its daily volume of gas transit via Ukraine to Europe to about 50 million cubic meters, the lowest level since January 2020, creating a spike in energy prices.

S&P downgrades Russia's rating closer to debt default.

The rating agency lowered Russia's rating from CCC- to CC as Russia struggles to pay its debts on its Eurobonds. Sanctions have reduced the country's available foreign exchange reserves and restricted its access to the global financial system.

Russian attacks kill 5, injure 23 in Ukraine over past day.

Russia launched two Iskander-M or North Korean KN-23 ballistic missiles, an S-300 anti-aircraft missile, and 47 Shahed-type attack drones and decoy drones against Ukraine overnight, primarily targeting Chernihiv Oblast, Ukraine's Air Force reported.
