Inside a prison where Russia tortured Ukrainian POWs
The Olenivka POW camp, located in the Russian-occupied part of Donetsk Oblast, was a notorious Russian-controlled prison where Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilian hostages from Mariupol have been subjected to torture. The Kyiv Independent’s War Crimes Investigations Unit will name those responsible for torturing prisoners in Olenivka.

Roman Steblivskyi

Roman Steblivskyi is the senior analyst for Trap Aggressor, a project under the Kyiv-based think tank StateWatch. Steblivskyi has investigated the Russian military-industrial complex and Russian oligarchs’ assets in Ukraine, among other issues, since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion. He has also advocated for subjecting Russian entities to international sanctions. He formerly worked as an analyst for anti-corruption advocacy in Ukraine. Steblivskyi graduated from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
