Russia's Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications has blocked Instagram after its parent company, Meta, said it would relax its hate speech policy, allowing calls for violence against Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian troops fighting in Ukraine.

In a recent address, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that since Russia continues its aggression against Ukraine "then sanctions packages against Russia are not enough, and I expect — we are already working on this today — new sanctions from our partners," he said. According to local officials, the Swiss-registered company responsible for the Kremlin's energy project has filed for insolvency and laid off all its staff. Swiss officials state U.S sanctions were a death blow for the project, which intended to bypass Ukrainian gas transit infrastructure and increase Europe's dependence on Russian gas.

Ukraine’s President spoke Russian when he addressed Russian invading forces in a recent video. “4,500 Russian soldiers have already been killed,” he said, citing figures that have since grown to 5,300. “Drop your weapons and leave, don’t trust your commanders, don’t trust your propagandists, just save your lives - leave.”

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukraine agreed to negotiate with Russia to see what their side has to say and to communicate Ukraine's position. "We will be happy if the result of these negotiations is peace," he said."But, and I emphasize this again, we will not give up, we will not capitulate, we will not give away a centimeter of our territory."
