Inside a prison where Russia tortured Ukrainian POWs
The Olenivka POW camp, located in the Russian-occupied part of Donetsk Oblast, was a notorious Russian-controlled prison where Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilian hostages from Mariupol have been subjected to torture. The Kyiv Independent’s War Crimes Investigations Unit will name those responsible for torturing prisoners in Olenivka.

Office Manager

Sofa Koretska is an office manager at the Kyiv Independent. Before joining the team, Sofa was the Logistics Coordinator at Smart Log. She worked at the West Coast branch for almost two years. A year into Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, she joined the Kyiv-based company Method Büro, which focuses on communications and design, as a personal assistant to the CEO. She was responsible for projects “Seeds for Ukraine” and “Living the War. Book”.
