UPDATED: Russian drone attack on Odesa kills 3, injures 8, children among victims

Editor's Note: This is a developing story.

A Russian drone attack on Odesa killed three people and injured at least eight others, Governor Oleh Kiper reported on March 2.

Among the injured is a three-year-old boy who is currently hospitalized with a wounded leg. The other victims are reportedly in moderate to severe condition. Some of the injured include a pregnant woman and a 26-year-old girl in serious condition.

The drone reportedly struck the ninth floor of a high-rise residential building. Three people were found dead, buried under the rubble, including a child, the State Emergency Service said.

Five people were reportedly rescued from the rubble.

Many nearby apartments were also left without heat as a result of the attack.

A drone attack was announced in Odesa at around 0:40 a.m. local time.

Drone attacks are a daily occurrence in Ukraine, affecting various regions across the country.
