Reactor at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant shuts down due to Russian shelling

According to Ukraine’s state nuclear power operator Energoatom on Sept. 1, “emergency protection has been activated and the operational fifth power unit was shut down” at the ZNPP. Energoatom notes that the sixth power unit is still operational and connected to Ukraine’s energy system.
