EU to approve new sanctions against Russia, Belarus.

French Presidency of the EU Council reported on March 9 that the sanctions will target Russian leaders, oligarchs, and their family members involved in Russia’s war on Ukraine, and the maritime sector. The new measures will also disconnect three Belarus banks from the SWIFT financial messaging system.
